  A very warm hello from Canva,

We’re very excited to send you our first set of release notes! Our Partnerships team has been hard at work. We’ve been developing some exciting new features, building beautiful new products, and fixing some nasty bugs.

We’ll be sending out these release notes at the end of every month to help keep you in the loop, let you know how to keep your integration fresh, and give you a sneak peek into what’s coming up next on the Partnerships roadmap.

New Features

 
 

Better Search Results

We’ve increased the limits on our catalog page search! The previous limit of 100 possible search results has now been increased to 300, allowing users to discover 3x as many template categories
 
 
 

New Documentation

We’ve been iterating over our documentation for a while now. We’re still only half way through the migration, with more updates to come, but you can now see our latest integration guide here

One of the new parameters you can find on the updated guide is the onArtworkCreate callback which now returns the number of pages in the design, as well as the design title.

Canvases

A total of 300 templates across three different landscape, portrait, and square sizes have been published!

A total of 100 templates for both landscape and portrait single-sided business cards have been published!

Bug Fixes and Updates

 
checkmark Carousel navigators have been removed for mobile users, they can now just scroll or swipe through the product carousels.
 
 
checkmark Search Dropdown had an invisible div overlaying the fourth search option in the Catalog page dropdown. We’ve removed the invisible element and fixed the bug.
 
 
checkmark The maxPages Parameter no longer needs to be explicitly passed to the editDesign API call. Instead, it will be inferred from the partnerProductId parameter.
 
 
checkmark Your Designs Carousel had some performance enhancements. It should now load faster, for a better user experience.
 
 
checkmark 1.0.3 Parameters will now be required rather than optional as we roll over our new parameters in the 1.0.3 version of the artwork API.

We will be reaching out to partners who are currently live and are not sending the new parameters to discuss upgrade windows. The API will remain backwards compatible for these partners until they upgrade.
 
 
 
 
 

Coming Soon

 
bullet Magic Prepress will soon be launched to automate the print proofing steps.
 
 
bullet Minimum and maximum pages will soon be enforced on the editor for a smoother user experience.
 
 
bullet Political themed content for banners, yard signs, posters, flyers, and postcards will be published by the end of the month.
 
 
bullet Halloween content for flyers, posters, stickers, t-shirts and folded cards will be published by the first week of October.
 
 
bullet Holiday content for folded cards, invitations, stickers, tags, and t-shirts will also be published early next month. This will be the first launch for our 2020 holiday campaign.
